Play Me, I’m Yours
London… Barcelona… Sydney… Cincinnati. Wait, what?
This summer, from August 2 to September 21, Cincinnati will be home to the first U.S. installation of Play Me, I’m Yours by Luke Jerram.
Jerram will install painted pianos throughout the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area – on streets, in public squares and parks, and at other fun locations – for anyone to discover and play. Like a creative blank canvas, the pianos will present unlimited opportunities for your inspiration and enjoyment.
You can donate an unused piano, or sponsor a street piano. I’m not sure, but I think you may be able to help in painting them and getting them ready too. Find out more at Play Me, I’m Yours Cincy, the artist’s website, and the project website.

Through the generosity of the Fine Arts Fund, OCAC, our resident artists, and 4 other regional Arts Centers were invited to participate in this project. Other Arts Centers involved in this grant include Clifton Community Arts Center, Sharonville Arts Center, Kennedy Heights Arts Center and Mayerson JCC.
Under the theme of international unity, Kris Courtney was inspired to present abstract views of American and UK flags in brilliant primary colors. Chrissy Collopy added her avant-garde expressions, and Stephanie Zing contributed a delightful glass and found object mosaic to the work. Questioning the ownership and rules of public space ‘Play Me I’m Yours’ is a provocation, inviting the public to engage with, activate and take ownership of their urban environment.
By promoting a sense of community through music and art, “ Play Me, I’m Yours celebrates public radio’s service to the community, the Fine Arts Fund’s commitment to regional arts of all kinds, and OCAC’s commitment to inspiring the arts in our community.
OCAC will celebrate the completion of the design and artwork on our piano on Sunday Afternoon, August 8th at 3 pm, with a concert performed by Jimmy Rogers and Laurie Traveline. The “Play Me, I’m Yours Front Porch Piano Concerts at OCAC” are scheduled on Sunday afternoons throughout August and September, but primarily the piano is there for the use of the public in spontaneous bursts of musical joy. Please join us in celebrating the arts! Come “Play me, I’m Yours”!
The Oxford Community Arts Center is located at 10 South College Avenue, Oxford, Ohio . The piano is located outside on the Portico for your enjoyment.
