The Queen City Zapatistas are a Cincinnati area marching band that is equally capable of playing parades, dances, weddings, funerals, parties, serenades, the front lobby of your office building, baseball and football games etc… We play a high octane mix of Dixieland, Jazz, Rock and Roll, Klezmer, New Orleans style funeral marches, 2nd line arrangements of symphonic material, religious music, anthems, vintage soul, and marches by John Philip Sousa. We are not affiliated with the mexican political party. We don’t venerate Frank Zappa or our trumpet player who happens to share his last name. We take ourselves very seriously.

I saw these guys marching in the Opening Day parade with Dante’s Gypsy Circus (they’re in the back at the far right of the picture, behind the gypsies).  All I can say is: love the uniforms.

From drunk dials to your ex-girlfriend to openly admitting to an extensive sweater vest collection, sometimes things are better off left unsaid. Local four-piece instrumental rock band A Dead Lois feels the same way, using strictly guitars, keyboards, drums and computer sounds to create their music, devoid of any pesky lyrics getting in the way.

“I want to push music, push its boundaries. I love doing new things with music,” said Otis, who claims he loves to lay his guitar down and just play with pedals with all the feedback enveloping him.

“Here at Tracy, Dean, and Jesus we continue to fight the evil demons of Drink’n & Drug’n, along with other sins of the flesh that are brought forth through deception and liberal floundering. Through our Christian Rock & Roll songs we fight fire with fire using our music from above. During our cable access programs and live performances, Tracy, Dean, & Jesus plays host to a variety of activities of the Lord’s depiction, such as “Literature of the Lord”, Rev. Billy Graham teachings, Homeland Security Demonstrations… Ice Cream Socials, burning demons in effigy, and battling Satan’s disciples with our mighty battle Cross, Etc…”

Evangelizing in Cincinnati and Los Angeles, Tracy Marune, Minister at the Waldorph Christian Parish, Goshen, Ohio, Dean, and Jesus have been saving souls from drinkin’, drug, and “hip hop” since the Year Of Our Lord 2000 through rock ‘n’ roll, demon burning, tongues, hands, you name it. All in all, a pretty good time, even for those of us without sin.

In addition to their live appearances, Tracy, Dean, and Jesus produced a tape of their pilgrimage to Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio for the Billy Graham and Friends in Concert Ministry in 2002. The show appears periodically on local public access TV Media Bridges.
