Sometimes I regret I wasn’t alive yet during Evel Knieval’s heyday. But opportunities to witness mind-blowing foolishness are still there! To wit:

On October 25, 1975, Evel Knievel jumped over 14 Greyhound buses on his motorcycle at Kings Island, setting a viewing record for ABC’s “Wide World of Sports” with a 22.3 rating and 52 percent share – a mark that still stands.

Almost 33 years later, Knievel’s son, Robbie Knievel, will try to surpass his father’s famous feat, attempting to clear 24 Coke Zero trucks Saturday, May 24 at 7 p.m. at Kings Island.

NEWPORT, KY, September 20, 2007 – 17-year-old Erik Kloeker of the world-renowned Pickled Brothers Circus Sideshow has broken the Upside-Down Juggling World Record while suspended upside-down 35 feet up, atop the Ohio River. The record attempt took place on September 20th, 2007 in Newport, KY.The new Upside-Down Juggling world record as set by Kloeker is 4 minutes and 5 seconds quadrupling the old record of 55.9 seconds held by an Australian juggler.
